Valeo is able to remanufacture all technologies available on the market. Valeo’s perfect knowledge of O.E. specifications enables a perfect and mastered assembly.

The specific remanufacturing process for alternator allows Valeo to deliver best in class product sin terms of quality Once an alternator is collected as core in the market, the part is sent to a specific production unit to follow the different steps of the remanufacturing process:

1. All parts are disassembled and all components are washed, except the rotor which is steel-brushed. Bearings are systematically replaced by new parts.
2. The rotor is electrically tested and painted to prevent corrosion. After being washed, the stator is fully steel brushed to eliminate traces of corrosion then painted. The interior diameter is calibrated with great precision and tips of the phases are tinned and electrically tested.
3. Pulleys are controlled, painted and chromed, free-wheel pulleys are replaced systematically.
4. Regulators are washed, dried and sand blasted. The brushes and springs are replaced.
5. The diodes of the rectifier bridge are individually tested and replaced if required.

Starters

Valeo latest generations of starters are developed with high-quality components improving lifetime, reliability, comfort and efficiency. More than 400 references are available, including the latest technologies fitted as O.E. on latest car models, such as Peugeot 208, Renault Clio IV and Volkswagen Golf VII. In addition to its new units benefiting from its O.E. expertise, Valeo has developed a complete premium Standard Exchange offer for starters. It covers almost all applications and meets car makers' requirements. With 30 years of experience in remanufacturing, Valeo is able to remanufacture all technologies available on the market. Valeo’s perfect knowledge of O.E. specifications enables a perfect and mastered assembly.

The specific remanufacturing process for starters enables Valeo to deliver products with the best quality standards. Once a starter is collected as core in the market, the part is sent to a specific production unit to follow the different steps of the remanufacturing process.

1. After disassembling, all components are washed and blasted.
2. Each pinion drive is inspected and possibly replaced by a new one with a 100% O.E. grease. Worn components they are automatically replaced. Brackets remanufacturing can be done if the component is out of tolerance. Valeo can ensure design and fitting conformity thanks to O.E. technical drawings.
3. Dedicated test benches, which allow simulation of the ignition phase, are used to inspect the solenoid.
4. The commutators of the armature are replaced if necessary in order to restore the O.E. electrical performance.
5. Valeo has the capacity to replace or re-magnetize magnets through specific processes, ensuring improved durability.

Transmission Systems

Today, Valeo Service offer for the aftermarket is composed of more than 3,400 part numbers (kits and components) that cover 90% of the total European car park, with a major presence within all major car makers such as French, German, Korean, Japanese, Italian manufacturers.

As an aftermarket solution provider, Valeo engineers have designed a new clutch kit named HEC (High Efficiency Clutch) to replace the competitors’ self-adjusting clutch and give full satisfaction in terms of quality, reliability and durability. This is done by using an improved cover assembly and a low-wear facing (range from 190 mm to 260 mm), resulting from years of research in Valeo’s R&D centers. This solution does not require a specialist tool, which facilitates the fitting operations.
